Named the Zulu word for 'future', Ikusasa gives Anglo American's Global Services division 7,500m² of office space in Dunkeld's Oxford Parks precinct.
The future, built for Anglo American
Ikusasa, the Zulu word for future, is the most recently completed building in the mixed-use Oxford Parks precinct at 7 Parks Boulevard in Dunkeld, giving Anglo American's Global Services division 7,500m² of office space across four floors above three basement parking levels. Designed by GLH Architects for developer Intaprop, the building extends the character of neighbouring Rosebank into a leafy, pedestrian-focused node with all parking placed underground to keep the street level free for walking and cycling.
An integrated urban philosophy connects the building's interior to the surrounding streetscape, activating frontages and threading landscaped links between pavements and semi-public spaces, with passive security designed in to keep the precinct open and welcoming rather than fenced off.
Spoormaker's role
Spoormaker & Partners was engaged directly by tenant Anglo American as mechanical engineer for the office fit-out, working alongside base-building mechanical engineers Adaptive Resource Engineers.
