City Lodge Hotel Group's 168-room Courtyard Hotel in Waterfall City is a 10-storey, Art Deco-influenced tower built on a shared basement within the Nexus precinct.
A flagship tower for a growing precinct
City Lodge Hotel Group opened its flagship four-star Courtyard Hotel Waterfall City in Midrand, a 168-room property with 164 rooms and four penthouse suites, two restaurants, three flexible event spaces, co-working space and a rooftop pool. Designed by LYT Architecture to complement the existing buildings in the Nexus Precinct at Waterfall City, the hotel sits on a common basement it shares with three other buildings in the precinct.
A 10-storey, Art Deco-influenced tower gives the hotel presence within the Waterfall City skyline and maximises 360-degree views over the surrounding area, while an external staircase and terraced landscaping resolve the site's roughly 11-metre slope down to a central courtyard. Ventilated façades on all four corners use grey-toned porcelain tiles on aluminium sub-framing.
