Vivid Architects and a multidisciplinary team built a new public square at the heart of Century City's Bridgeways precinct, combining a hotel, offices, apartments and a conference centre on a shared basement.
The heart of a new precinct
Century City Square is a mixed-use development built around a new public square in the Bridgeways precinct of Century City, Cape Town, conceived by Vivid Architects as the generator for future development of the surrounding area. The precinct comprises a conference centre, hotel, commercial office space, residential apartments and a structured parking building, all sitting on a single-level super basement with secure, controlled access.
A new internal roadway and one-way exit ramp were designed specifically to manage traffic at peak times, reflecting the scale of a development intended to anchor an undeveloped part of Century City for years to come.
Spoormaker's role
Spoormaker & Partners served as HVAC engineer on the project, part of a large Cape Town-based professional team including Vivid Architects, Aurecon and WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.
